Espejito espejito…

A la pregunta más famosa de todos los tiempos hecha a un espejo, nosotros tenemos la mejor respuesta. El espejo, de largo.

Cuando tenemos la fortuna de encontrarnos con uno antiguo, no dudamos ni un segundo en subirnos las mangas y llevarlo como sea al taller.

“Mirror… Mirror…” To the most famous question ever asked to a mirror, we have the best answer. The mirror, no doubt.

When we are lucky enough to find one that is antique, it only takes us one second to roll up our sleeves and bring it to the workshop.

Nuestra debilidad son los espejos con marco de madera tallada y que muestran en el reflejo el paso de los años, esas manchas negras que lo hacen misterioso y sofisticado.

We have a particular soft spot for the wooden framed mirrors with crafted details. The ones that tell us the story of all the years that have passed: those beautiful black spots that make them mysterious and sophisticated.

Pero si además de esto, es grande o muy grande, nos derretimos en el acto. Como cuando encontramos este espejo que no sólo es grande, de los materiales y del estado que nos encanta, sino que además tiene patas! Es sencillamente espectacular.

Es una espejo hecho en cristal de roca muy especial por el grosor de sus cristales (8,5 mm), de los que ya no se hacen por su difícil elaboración. Estaba unido a un mueble en la parte inferior, donde está el marco de madera, el cual decidimos quitar y reemplazar con un cristal nuevo. A este nuevo central le dimos un toque antiguo para que mostrara el mismo tipo de desgaste del resto del espejo.

Luego lo pintamos en un verde militar que contrasta muy bien con los detalles en madera y…



And if the mirror is big, or even better, very big, we melt instantly. Just what happened to us when we found this one. It is not only big and made from the materials we like but it is also in that condition we love and it even has legs! It is espectacular.

This one is a mirror made from rock crystal and with a very special thickness of 8,5mm that required a very specific crafting technique; a technique that no one knows anymore. It was attached to a piece of furniture on the lower part, where the wooden frame is, that we replaced with a new mirror piece. This new crystal was treated to create the same wear the rest of the piece shows.

We painted in military green contrasting nicely with the wooden details and look at it now!!…

Son espejos imponentes, que son tan protagonistas del espacio como cualquier pieza de arte. Miradlo como nos queda en La Place y la verdad le vemos sitio en cualquier parte de la casa. Nos encanta vaya.

These pieces have such personality that they bring their strength wherever they stand. Just look how well it goes in La Place, but honestly, we can picture it in any part of the house. Yes, we love it.

Of course the hanging mirrors are not bad at all. This distressed white one is one of our first finds and we still love it.

Pero los del colgar no están nada mal tampoco. Este espejo blanco desgastado fue uno de nuestros primeros tesoros que aun guardamos con mucho cariño.

O este otro que está decorando el comedor de una de nuestras clientes, añade un toque romántico al espacio con sus formas delicadas y colores neutros.

As you can see, these are very versatile pieces that can be an ideal complement to any room or can also be the main character of a space. We see them in entrance halls, bathrooms, bedrooms, dining and living rooms… you set the limit.

Como veis son piezas muy versátiles que pueden ser un complemento ideal en cualquier estancia o se puede convertir en centro de atención indiscutible. Nosotros los vemos en entradas, en baños, habitaciones, comedores, salones… el limite los ponéis vosotros.
