Seguimos trabajando sin parar en nuestro nuevo espacio y por eso nos estáis viendo menos por aquí. Hoy decidimos darnos un respiro para enseñaros esta lámpara que acabamos de terminar.
We continue to work hard on our new space and that´s why you haven´t seen us here lately but today we decided to take a small break to show you something really nice: this lamp we just finished.
Crane la llamamos, como grúa en inglés, porque a eso se nos parece. La encontramos en muy mal estado y sin algunas piezas, así que nos dedicamos a limpiarla y solidificar la madera para que recuperara la belleza de antaño.
We call it Crane, because… that’s what it looks like to us. We found it in a really bad state and with a few pieces missing. As always, we started by cleaning and solidifying the wood to recover its lost beauty.
We then added the pieces missing, in particular we added parts to the height regulating system to work.
También añadimos unas piezas para que el sistema que regula la altura funcionara de nuevo.
La bombilla venía cubierta de una caperuza no muy favorecedora, la cual decidimos suprimir para darle un toque más industrial. Nos decantamos por cable a la vista y usamos uno forrado en tela que suaviza el efecto y lo hace un poco más rústico.
The bulb was covered by a lamp shade, which we thought was 1. not nice and 2. not needed. We took it out and left the cable visible to give it a more industrial look. To soften the look and bring a rustic accent, we used a fabric covered cable.
Al final nos quedó una lámpara delicada pero con carácter, versátil y práctica a la vez. Perfecta para crear un ambiente cálido desde la esquina de una habitación, iluminando un sillón para leer o al lado de una mesa de trabajo… cualquiera de las opciones, o todas a la vez!
At the end we had a stunning looking lamp, delicate and with character, versatile and practical at the same time. Imagine it in a corner, by a cozy reading armchair or illuminating your work space… any of the above or all at the same time!
